Longstreet's Friends and Associates

In order to best understand James Longstreet, one should look to who influenced him--his friends and associates. We have included some of the men who Longstreet mentioned in his reports, letters and wrote about in his memoirs. These men are certainly notable, the names below are all important figures in American history. They all impacted the life and/or career of James Longstreet in some capacity. Most are military men. His staff and subordinates can not to be found here, they have their own section elsewhere within the site.
